Welcome to Trixie Little’s CABARET SCHOOL.
12 WEEKS + 6 LESSONS = 1 NEW ACT
WHO— Your teacher is the legendary cabaret-burlesque-circus performer, Trixie Little— a 20 year veteran of the stage, page and screen.
WHAT— Learn Trixie’s own creative process which covers her philosophy of cabaret, storytelling arcs, character development, act structure, innovative approaches to prop use, practical costuming strategies, and more. You’ll be given written and physical homework assignments designed to help you refine your vision. Through video assignments and writing exercises, you’ll learn how to think like an Artist.
WHERE— Online. How convenient! Every 2 weeks, you’ll receive a video lecture and demonstration that you can watch at your own pace. You’ll send in videos of your progress and receive personalized feedback along the way.
WHEN— This is a 12 week, 6-part journey from the conception to the creation of a brand new act. You’ll receive a new lecture every 2 weeks, starting the week of March 9th.
WHY— Cabaret is a playful and powerful tool for personal and cultural transformation. It’s a spoonful of sugar to help audiences digest new ways of being, thinking and experiencing our “wild nature,” which conventional society tries to smother out of us. Cabaret is the embodiment of freedom and self expression and embraces the misfits and outcasts, who have learned to transform their outsider-ness into empowered individuality. To that end, I want to help aspiring and seasoned performers reach new levels of professionalism, innovation and artistry in my favorite art form— CABARET.
HOW— The cost is $295* Once you’re enrolled, you’re also eligible to repeat the class three times should you need more time, or if you want to create additional acts.

ABOUT MY JOURNEY
Cabaret performance is my passion and I’ve been doing it professionally for nearly 20 years. My work is about fusing sex and comedy, pushing on taboos, breaking conventional expectations of “appropriate” behavior, telling empowering stories and using the element of surprise to delight audiences. I never saw the value in imitating anyone and half the time, there wasn’t even anyone doing what was in my head anyway. So instead, I cultivated my own eccentric style and blazed a career path that has taken me all over the world, made me the subject of a documentary that followed 7 years of my life, and earned me the right to call myself a capital “A” Artist. I have been part of both the neo-burlesque and circus revivals since the early days and have an immense repertoire of acts and full length cabaret-theater shows that fuse physical storytelling, acrobatics, striptease, costumes/props and humor. My mind is a creative faucet and I want to work with you to get your faucet turned on too.
It wasn’t until I began performing internationally, that I realized my hybrid style of short form theater fell under the “cabaret” genre. Cabaret is a multi-disciplinary theatrical style that incorporates any and all of the performing arts. I’ve been writing, reading, teaching and living my cabaret philosophy for a decade. I believe in the power of cabaret to transform society, build community, and inspire everyone to go after their dreams. I’ve spent my life in service to my craft and I take being an artist very seriously.
