I’VE GOT A PODCAST, PEOPLE!
In June of 2019, I started Vive La Renaissance! A podcast about Artists and Eccentrics who have followed their dreams, walked an unconventional path and shaped the world around them using their imaginations. I am absolutely THRILLED to have this podcast as an excuse to talk to artists I admire and grill them with questions about how they’ve succeeded. My life is being shaped by these conversations, there are so many pearls of wisdom from each and every artist’s story. And this podcast is my attempt to make the world I want to live in.
After reading Team Human, I agreed with Douglas Rushkoff, we don’t want a revolution right now because that’s just the same shit with different people at the top. What we want is a golden age of enlightenment, brought through the arts. After actually studying the Renaissance in Florence during college, having nearly 20 years of professional performing experience, and being a life-long freak…I felt like I had a big contribution to make to bring about this Renaissance. This podcast is my attempt to educate America about what artists do and why. I hope to remind everyone to never give up on your dreams. The Renaissance is a life philosophy as much as a podcast. My goals for this project are:
To elevate respect and increase opportunities for artists and eccentrics in America and the world.
To inspire others to take small or big steps towards their own dreams.
To help balance our reliance on corporation-controlled technology by focusing on analog methods of creation and emphasizing craft.
To use conversation and collaboration to build community.
To re-enchant the world with wonder, curiosity and delight.
